Mary CARROLL

She was tried at Old Bailey, London on 25 October 1786 for stealing linen with a value of 15 shillings. She was sentenced to transportation for 7 years and left England on the Lady Penrhyn aged about 36 at that time (May 1787). Her occupation was listed as mantua maker (dressmaker).

Notes: Married John Nicholls on 24 March 1788 although described at her trial as wife of James Carroll. On Norfolk Island she lived with William Thompson(Scarborough).
