Mary CARROLL
She
was tried at
Old Bailey, London
on
25 October 1786 for stealing linen with a value of 15 shillings.
She
was sentenced to transportation for
7 years
and left England on the
Lady Penrhyn
aged about 36 at that time (May 1787).
Her occupation was listed as mantua maker (dressmaker).

Married John Nicholls on 24 March 1788 although described at her trial as wife of James Carroll. On Norfolk Island she lived with William Thompson(Scarborough).
