Mary BOLTON

She was tried at Shrewsbury, Shropshire on 12 March 1785 for burglary with a value of 61 shillings. She was sentenced to transportation for 7 years having been originally sentenced to death, and left England on the Lady Penrhyn aged about 29 at that time (May 1787). Her occupation was listed as servant.

Notes: Doubt as to her identity in later records because of inconsistent use of her name.Possibly married Samuel Day on 2 November 1788 but regardless were known as a couple for 25 years. At Norfolk Island they adopted two daughters with the surname Sullivan.
