John ARSCOTT

He was tried at Bodmin, Cornwall on 18 August 1783 for stealing tobacco with a value of 70 shillings. He was sentenced to transportation for 7 years and left England on the Scarborough aged about 20 at that time (May 1787). He had no occupation recorded.He left NSW in 1793.

Notes: Report from Dunkirk hulk was that he had behaved “tolerably well”. Transferred from the Charlotte to Scarborough at Portsmouth.Married Catherine Prior on 8 December 1792.
