William DOUGLAS
He
was tried at
Lincoln, Lincolnshire

9 July 1785 for stealing a silver watch of unknown value.
He
was sentenced to transportation for
7 years
and left England on the
Alexander
aged about 24 at that time (May 1787).
He had no occupation recorded. He died in 1838.

The watch was stolen from the victim’s pocket.On 18 December 1790 he was ordered to work in a gang, following an assault on two seamen from Supply.Married Mary Groves on 1 June 1788.
