John OWEN

He was tried at Old Bailey, London on 10 September 1783 for stealing 18 table knives and forks with a value of 7 shillings. He was sentenced to transportation for 7 years and left England on the Scarborough aged about 18 at that time (May 1787). He had no occupation recorded. He died in 1828.

Notes: On 16 January 1789 sentenced to receive 100 lashes for a three day absence from camp.
