John ROMAINE/ROMAIN

He was tried at Old Bailey, London on 15 September 1784 for stealing clothing with a value of 5 shillings. He was sentenced to transportation for 7 years and left England on the Scarborough aged about 21 at that time (May 1787). He had no occupation recorded.

Notes: Received 50 lashes on 18 August 1791 for “Riotous behaviour after hours”.
