William SMITH
He
was tried at
Bodmin, Cornwall
on
25 July 1785 for stealing an iron grappling and other goods with a value of 23 shillings.
He
was sentenced to transportation for
7 years
and left England on the
Scarborough
aged about 21 at that time (May 1787).
He had no occupation recorded. He died in 1788.
