John WESTWOOD

He was tried at Old Bailey, London on 20 October 1784 for stealing a snuff box with a value of 39 shillings. He was sentenced to transportation for 7 years and left England on the Scarborough aged about 35 at that time (May 1787). His occupation was listed as servant. He died in 1790.

Notes: Actual value of stolen goods was 160 shillings. Evidence of past mental illness was given at his trial.
