Mary MARSHALL(1)

She was tried at Old Bailey, London on 10 January 1787 for stealing linen handkerchiefs with a value of 10 shillings. She was sentenced to transportation for 7 years and left England on the Lady Penrhyn aged about 29 at that time (May 1787). Her occupation was listed as servant. She died in 1849.

Notes: She is readily distinguished from the other Mary Marshall, by her behaviour and the fact that she was able to sign her name.Mary Marshall (Senior) lived with Robert Sidaway from the time of landing until his death in 1806.
