Hannah SMITH

She was tried at Winchester, Hampshire on 5 April 1785 for stealing clothing with a value of 7 shillings. She was sentenced to transportation for 7 years and left England on the Charlotte aged about 29 at that time (May 1787). She had no occupation recorded. She died in 1826(?).

Notes: Partner in the original crime was Daniel Gordon.Received on Dunkirk hulk with a 3 month son (1786-1788), who travelled with her on the First Fleet.Married Edward Pugh on 15 June 1788 and had 5 children.
