John USHER

He was tried at Maidstone, Kent on 17 March 1785 for stealing linen material with a value of 39 shillings. He was sentenced to transportation for 7 years and left England on the Alexander aged about 18 at that time (May 1787). His occupation was listed as jeweller.

Notes: Actual value of stolen goods was 40 shillings.On 12 May 1790 sentenced to receive 50 lashes for theft.
