John BAUGHAN/BINGHAM

He was tried at Oxford, Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire on 30 July 1783 for stealing woolen blankets with a value of 50 shillings. He was sentenced to transportation for 7 years and left England on the Friendship aged about 33 at that time (May 1787). His occupation was listed as cabinet maker. He died in 1797.

Notes: Guilty of return from transport following the Mercury mutiny.Report from Dunkirk hulk was “troublesome at times”.At his death he was the overseer of carpenters.Married Mary Cleaver on 17 February 1788.
