John AYRES

He was tried at Old Bailey, London on 21 April 1784 for stealing musical instruments with a value of 50 shillings. He was sentenced to transportation for 7 years and left England on the Scarborough aged about 20 at that time (May 1787). His occupation was listed as shoemaker.

Notes: Probably absconded soon after landing. Partner in the original crime was John Pettitt.
